A range of resources to introduce/ utilise the Maramataka (commonly known as the Maori lunar calendar, or seasonal calendar) in your everyday life. As maramataka is seasonal, and unique to locations - we have created resources with a consistent reference source (Wiremu Tawhai, Living by the Moon - available from Huia Publishers) - with the ability to customise to ones own location & iwi/ hapu purakau. We feel this then allows an 'introduction and familiarisation' with basic concepts and korero, before you delve deeper into knowledge and practices specific to your location and iwi/ hapu.
There are a number of iwi (ie. Te Arawa, Waikato Tainui) that produce localised information freely available about the maramataka. We highly recommend watching Dr Rangi Matamua video series on maramataka and matariki on You Tube.
We also have some blogs on our website that further explain our thinking around the development of several of our resources.
